The Friends of ICHS is a newly formed association of parents, carers, and staff committed to supporting the school. As a parent or carer of a child at ICHS you are automatically a member and we welcome your participation and valuable input.
The Friends of ICHS is run solely by volunteers. At a time when many schools are struggling financially we aim to raise money to help the school provide materials, resources and facilities for the benefit of our children and the dedicated staff teaching and supporting them. We hope to start running a variety of events throughout the school year to raise money as well as promote a sense of community within the school.
With your support we can raise more funds and build a stronger school community. If you have any ideas or are able to help please contact us as it would be greatly appreciated.
We have a committee of 12 dedicated parents, including a chair, vice chair, secretary and treasurer. However we strongly believe that every parent can play a part regardless of whether a person is a committee member or not. Read more about our AGM here: AGM 2019
The Charities Act 2011 requires organisations such as ours with an annual income in excess of £5,000 to register with the Charity Commission.
In our first operating year we narrowly missed this target due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope to qualify soon and as a registered Charity we will abide by Charity Commission rules and regulations and we are bound by a constitution. Our constitution sets out rules about how we operate as the Friends of ICHS and how we conduct ourselves. A full copy can be obtained can be found here:
Please support us reach this threshold of £5000 so that we can become a registered charity.
Being a Registered Charity gives us many extra benefits:
- We are able to apply for Gift Aid, which can earn us an extra 25p in every pound donated to the Friends of ICHS, out of earned income.
- We can raise funds more easily from grant giving trusts, local businesses etc
- We can take advantage of charity matched giving schemes
How Much have we raised since June 2019?
